The new season is here! Spring/Summer 24 is now in full swing and so are a brand new wave of trends. Get ahead of the curve and see our top 10 trends perfect for investing in NOW. Keep scrolling for our Spring/Summer 2024 Trend Alert.
1. Minimalism – Discreet chic and classic wardrobe staples continue to feature heavily across Spring/Summer 24 collections. Think 90s New York elegance meets quiet luxury, with the likes of Anine Bing, Joseph and House of Dagmar offering up all the clean lines and simple silhouettes. Staples such as the trench coat, pencil skirt, trouser suit, and a well-cut blazer are key.
2. Muted Palette – A subdued colour palette once again dominated the runways, reflecting the understated, minimalist clothes seen on the catwalk. Soft, calming neutral hues and pristine whites feature universally, whilst navy, black, and khaki accentuate. See Joseph, Posse, House of Dagmar, Anine Bing, Begg, Acne, Theory.
3. Sky Blue – Dopamine dressing had a revamp in SS24 with the soothing shade of sky blue painted across the catwalks. This soft hue is trickling into the wardrobes of fashion people in a big way and you can find it at the likes of Vince, Holzweiler, Essentiel Antwerp, Dagmar, Sea.
4. Shorts – Whilst micro shorts dominated the runways, we have seen this filter down in more wearable ways with lots of shorts coming through in various iterations. Tailored, linen, and denim, all of varying lengths, with matching shorts sets showing up at Sea, Kori, Alemais, Dagmar.
5. Linen – Linen is the soulmate of summer. A veritable classic re-designed every year in coveted new styles, this lightweight material has an effortless ethereal feel that is both beachy and cosmopolitan. See Posse, Alemais, Kori, House of Dagmar.
6. Basket Bags – Still the Summer ‘IT’ bag to have on your arm, woven accessories were more prevalent than ever for SS24, with the trend encompassing everything from structured basket bags and totes with a rope-like construction, to loose knit textures. See Anine Bing, Isabel Marant, Stella McCartney.
7. Denim – A forever trend that never goes out of style, SS24 denim saw every mood catered for, with classic 90s straight legs still prominent, and the wide leg silhouette remaining strong. The sculptural aesthetic of the tapered horseshoe shape is gaining yet more traction; referencing vintage styles whilst feeling ultra modern. We’re seeing denim skirts as a key focus universally across brands and influencers alike, (Citizens, Merlette) and dresses (Ganni) also provide an alternative way to wear our favourite fabric.
8. Black Dress – A trend perfect for transitional spring days styled with boots and seasonal knitwear, as well as summer casual and event dressing. Whether off-the-shoulder silhouettes or clean, simple cuts, dresses this season are back to classic black. See Ganni, Sea, ALC, Merlette.
9. Florals- Florals are a consistent hero in S/S collections, and this year is no different. Statement prints are featured on maxi dresses and matching sets, with influences of traditional artisanal craftsmanship and rose motifs. See Aje, Holzweiler, Vince.
10. Matching sets – Co-ord sets have become a fashion staple in recent seasons, seamlessly creating a polished look. Matching tops and bottoms convey a harmony perfect for the warmer months, elevating a look with a cohesive and chic statement. For SS24 we are seeing lots of matching sets in black (see Merlette, Etoile) and printed sets (Alemais, Merlette, Farm Rio).
