The season of champagne and sparkles is upon us, and it’s time to prep your wardrobe to match! Each year the festive season has its very own set of trends, with the perfect mixture of comebacks from sparkly old friends and statement colour newbies. We’ve put together a guide on what to wear to both dressy and casual occasions, from showstoppers to ‘jeans and a nice top’ dress codes.

1. Velvet

This seasonal classic is a repeat favourite every year. Velvet is a perfect option it you want the glamour without the glitz. With a reminiscent feel of old Hollywood, velvet exudes luxury and elegance in an understated design. Whether that be a statement midnight blue suit like our beautiful Veronica Beard set, or a classic little black dress with a seasonal twist. Both are the perfect option for an elevated Christmas Day outfit, or a work-event appropriate night on the town.

2. The New Year’s Go-To

Would it be a New Year’s Eve celebration without sequins? Coming in all shapes and sizes, we champion a playful addition of glitter in whatever form that takes over the festive period. Mini dresses draped in chunky sequins or blouses elegantly sprinkled in stardust, all are welcome investments into your Winter wardrobe. Perhaps surprisingly, we consider these party pieces classic investments. There is one thing that is never unfashionable at Christmas time, and that is a dusting (or an explosion) of sparkle. Make a purchase this season that will see you through year after year, and always be a hit.

3. Red

A bold take on cherry red’s sister colour of Autumn/Winter, bright red is the undisputed colour of Christmas. Whether that be sequin mini dresses or ruffled blouses, add a pop of colour to your wardrobe that you can re-wear every year throughout the party season. Perfect for pairing with velvet trousers, leather mini-skirts and sparkling accessories, red is a complimentary colour on all skin tones. Be daring this Winter and swap your go-to black blouse for something brave with a little more spirit.

4. Satin

The ultimate festive nod to the quiet luxury trend this Christmas. Satin is the perfect option for the ladies who prefer an understated, yet still seasonal look. A slinky satin blouse is a great option for pairing with both mini and maxi skirts, leather trousers and denim jeans. Add a pair of heels for a chic outfit dripping in confidence and style. Or for an elevated smart casual look, pair a full-length satin maxi skirt with your favourite knitwear and boots.

5. Accessories

Bags, boots, shoes and jewellery are a great way to add a seasonal twist to a basic outfit. A touch of sparkle with a statement earring can transform the most simple of looks, whilst a pair of heels or knee high boots can take any outfit from day to night.
